How To Get Away From Distractions For Young People

Distractions are everywhere. Lets say you are about to start working on a difficult project. You probably want to get this project done as quickly as possible & do it the easiest way possible. The only problem is starting it. You have friends that want to do sorts of activities or you can't concentrate because of your environment disturbing. Simple problems like those can be solved easily. These methods help overcome anything while you complete the task at hand.

Distraction?

The first step is realizing your distraction. It is hard for most people to realize but their phone is their number one distraction. It buzzes, jumps, & rings plus all other sorts of things you can do with it. People don't realize if you put away that phone that you may be more productive. There is a lot of distractions with a device that can do anything in the world for you. It may not even be your phone but people as well. After you realize your distraction what are you going to do about it?

A) Make a schedule.

This way you will be so busy you have to plan a distraction. That is the key though. If you don't make time for distractions then there is no way in for distractions. Use a calendar so you organize all of your events. You can put phone time on your calendar as well if you have to. Be aware that if you do that then your mind might wander off & not come back to what you were thinking.

*Important Note*

Take breaks because your mind needs to rest. The mind has mental capacity as well. You don't want to over-fry your mental fatigue level.

B) Set up signals

People cannot read minds. If you don't want to be bothered then tell them. You don't have to tell them verbally either. Wear headphones that people can see. If you're looking at a screen with headphones blocking your ears then less likely someone is going to bother you.

Are you always getting a message or notification from the media? iPhone has a feature on them called "Do Not Disturb". Use that feature so you don't get distracted. It turns all sounds off on your phone. All phones are just alike so find something to turn off your notifications for your own good. Still, that might just be too tempting as well. You might just want to take a glance at your phone. The best option then is to turn off your phone. This way you don't have to worry about seeing or hearing a distraction.

C) Environment

Distractions come from around you. For example, a library vs Starbucks. A library is made for people who are looking for books & reading them. It should be one of the quietest places you could go. On the other hand, Starbucks is made for people in the morning to go get something to drink or eat. Starbucks is usually placed in a small building with the internet. You can look & hear everything around you. People are constantly ordering & moving around you. That can be a major distraction depending on you. Pick a place where you can avoid the simplest distractions.

You can set up your own distraction without knowing. Your mind is always wondering. It depends on what you have done or seen lately. Isolate your thoughts. How do you do that? Keep a clean place so everything you see is in front of you. If you have magazines about Captain America then your mind is going to wander in that direction. Organize your surroundings with your books & material that you want to focus on.
